Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh
AVSM, VSM
Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM was commissioned into The PARACHUTE REGIMENT in 1987. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He has attended the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, the Higher Command Course in Mhow and the National Defence College Course in New Delhi.
National Cadet Corps is world’s largest uniformed youth organisation which was inaugurated on 15 Jul 1948 with over 96 Senior Division Units with its first director then Col ( Later Chief of Army Staff) G.G. Bewoor. Currently NCC holds a strength of more than 13 Lakh Cadets where is started with an initial strength of only 20,000.
The National Cadet Corps is administered by the Defense Ministry of India and Commanded my Directorate General Equivalent to the rank of a Three Star Army Officer. NCC offers an orientation of life and service in armed forces of India and creates a platform for National Integration. It promotes the dynamic aspects of leadership and aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens.
NCC organizes various camps of district, State, National and International Level and provides both the platform of competition and national integration hence cherishing the needs of social, cultural and regional oneness.

BSSS NCC
The Bhopal School of Social Sciences has been affiliated with National Cadet Corps 4 MP BN NCC Bhopal since year 2004-05. However from 2013-14 the platoon took a new direction to reach the pinnacle of achievements and took the form of the BSSS NCC in the on 6 October 2018. We are a proud company of 107 Army Wing Cadets.
